Family Life in the Valleys - Age of TV

Changes in family life from the 1950s onwards looked at in interview and archive. The story is told of the introduction of two new innovative technologies to the home and the effects of these changes on home life in the south Wales valleys. Television brought children in from playing in the streets in the 1960s while the introduction of central heating in the 1990s took children back upstairs to their now warm bedrooms.
