You’ll need:
Dry Shampoo or Root Powder
Hairspray
Pin Tail Comb
Backcombing Brush
Hair Grips and Pins

Steps:
Section off the hair from the top of the head in a horseshoe shape.

Spray the rest of the hair with dry shampoo or root powder. This will give the hair more volume and grip making it easier to style.

Starting at the side of the head, take a section of hair, holding it out taut to backcomb. If the hair isn’t taut, the backcombing won’t work properly. Spray it with hairspray. The backcombing should be strong enough that the hair stays in place, sticking up by itself.

Continue backcombing small sections of hair until all remaining hair is backcombed.

Gently smooth the top layer of the backcombing from the left side of the head backwards, pinning a line of grips upwards in a straight line, just to the left of the centre of the head.

Smooth the other side of the hair, from right to left, using the ends of the hair to form a vertical roll down the back of the head, tight against the line of the vertical pins.

Secure the role into place using as many pins and grips as you need, making sure you cover the original line of pins using the roll. Spray the hair to hold.

Repeat the backcombing process across the top section of hair, leaving out the front section or fringe to shape the face.

Smooth the backcombing down using either a brush or the end of a pin tail comb to the size you want.

Tuck the hair into the roll at the back of the head, pinning into place. Spray to secure.

Lightly backcomb the front sections of hair to give more volume and spray the whole hair to finish
