The Great Chinese Dream

Why lifting people into the ranks of the middle class remains China's biggest challenge

America isn't the only nation with a great dream. China's president Xi Jinping has been dream weaving too - trying to find ways to inspire his people to aspire to a better life, supported by a higher income. It is part of his project to sustain China's formidable growth and propel its people into the ranks of the world's middle class.

The ±«Óãtv's chief business correspondent, Linda Yueh, will be explaining how the Chinese dream looks very much like the American one - except without the picket fence.

And, commentator Lucy Kellaway will - in typical contrarian style - be exhorting this year's new graduates to aim low.
