Did You Know?

Anthony Caro studied engineering at Cambridge to appease his family, who disapproved of a career in art. However, after serving in the Fleet Air Arm during World War II, he enrolled at art school and subsequently worked as an assistant to the sculptor Henry Moore in the 1950s. Caro was knighted in 1987 and received the Order of Merit in 2000.
