Ballet - the cygnet dance in 'Swan Lake'

Dancer Darcey Bussell and choreographer Matthew Bourne discuss two different versions of the cygnet dance in 'Swan Lake'. First we see the best-known, all-female version of the cygnet dance, as choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Four female dancers are linked together until the final moment of the dance. In contrast, Matthew Bourne offers his version, choreographed with all-male cygnets. Four male dancers perform separately, using very different kinds of movements to those in the earlier piece.
