How was the lack of housing and poor slum conditions solved after the Second World War?

Black and white footage of slums, bomb damage and prefabricated housing from the 1940s and 1950s. An original documentary from 1949 also illustrates how prefabricated houses were built. Colour footage of 1950s and 1960s brick flats and school is also shown, illustrating the need for permanent housing and facilities.
