Are you full of Olympic spirit?

The opening ceremony of the London Olympics is due to take place later after seven years of preparations.

The three-hour spectacle in the Olympic Stadium is expected to be viewed by a global TV audience of a billion people.

The final day of the torch relay will see the Olympic flame taken along the Thames on royal rowbarge Gloriana - and then used to light the cauldron that will shine during 16 days of sport.

The Games will see the biggest UK peacetime security operation mounted.

Organisers have released a video clip giving a sneak preview of Oscar winner Danny Boyle's opening ceremony, featuring groups in colourful stage outfits dancing to Tiger Feet by 1970s rock group Mud and cyclists with wings pedalling along to Come Together by the Beatles.

Europe's largest bell will ring inside the stadium at 9 o'clock at the start of the £27m extravaganza, featuring a cast of 10,000 volunteers and said to be a quirky take on British life.

Some 15,000 square metres of staging and 13,000 props will be used, and the event will boast a million-watt PA system using more than 500 speakers.

The crowd of about 80,000 will include the Queen and a host of dignitaries and celebrities.

With just hours to go before the 2012 London games begin, do you have olympic fever?

Also, we speak to Conservative MP for South Thanet, Laura Sandys who has condemned yesterday's reported live export of fully-fleeced sheep from the Port of Ramsgate.

She is angry that transport of the animals took place when temperatures reached 24 degrees celsius.

She has said that she will be raising the issue about the shipping with Government as a matter of urgency.

The controversial trade resumed at the Port of Ramsgate last year and thousands of calves and sheep have already been transported to the continent for slaughter.

By law, some of them can spend 24 hours on board lorries without a break.

We also talk about Olympic sponsorship this morning and the ethical side of large fast food companies such as Coca Cola and McDonalds having such a prominent role.

Does Olympic sponsorship guarantee marketing gold? Are we all going to rush out to buy a Big Mac using our Visa cards over the next couple of weeks?

With Games partners pouring millions into having an association with the Olympics, is it money well spent?

We speak to Andrew Metcalf a marketing expert from Maxim PR.
