Maya Angelou is one of the foremost elder stateswomen of literature in America. Renowned for her frank volumes of autobiography, particularly the first instalment, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, which has sold several million copies around the world.

Maya talks to Jenni about why she’s turned her attention to food and about her new book which is a collection of recipes, together with the memories that they evoke.
