An unusual tunnel in Brighton

The South Downs is mostly chalk, so it's easy to tunnel through. There are many tunnels along the coastline, but Julia discovers a particularly unusual one running through the chalk - leading from Roedean School in Brighton, down to the beach. She meets two 'old girls', Pam Dodsworth and Renee Wilkin, who remember the tunnel from their schooldays in the 1930s, and recall its use as an air raid shelter.
