Information uncovered as a result of a Freedom of Information request indicates that when it comes to car crime and burglaries, four out of every five criminals are slipping through the net.
We speak to Ken Pease, former head of the Police Research Group at the ±«Óãtv Office, and Ken Tappenden, a retired Kent Police chief superindendent.
Sharp-eyed drivers in Tunbridge Wells may have spotted a new breed of CCTV camera. This one has wheels and is attached to a small car, which patrols the streets looking for parking offenders.
The trial in West Kent comes after two such cars in the Medway towns have netted over £750,000 in fines since 2008. They have proved controversial though, with six dismissals and a high staff turnover among those operating the cars.
