Around £20bn a year is paid in housing benefit alone. Is the government right to bring that figure down, even if that means thousands of families in Kent will be worse off?

Have benefits encouraged people to be lazy?

Have you or your children been priced out of the housing market in Kent? Would a 95% mortgage help or do we just need prices to come down?

The government will today outline proposals aimed at easing housing shortages. It will include a scheme allowing first-time buyers of new homes to borrow up to 95% of the value with the government underwriting part of the risk.

Is this the answer? Will it help you on the housing ladder? Do we just need to build more homes and more affordable homes in Kent?
