Shropshire school closures

The end of the consultation on threatened Shropshire Council schools.

Jim talks to David Taylor, corporate director at Shropshire Council responsible for drawing up and steering proposals to close some Shropshire schools.

The statutory consultation on many of the plans ends on Friday, and councillors will decide in July whether to proceed.

Some schools have indicated they'll seek academy status, opting out of local authority control. If Shropshire Council lost the right to close those schools, would it have to choose others instead?
