Stornoway black pudding is world-renowned and steps are being taken to protect this traditional food from impostors.
Protection could come in the form of a protected geographic status from the European Union which would mean that only puddings made on the Isle of Lewis could use the "Stornoway" name. To be given this status, the butchers of Stornoway need to show that the pudding is truly unique to the island.
