Remembering Kris Kristofferson

Johnnie pays tribute to Kris Kristofferson, who died last weekend. He'll also revisit a classic interview with Rita Coolidge, to whom Kris was married in the 1970s.

Kris Kristofferson's artistic legacy looms large in the 1970s. His influence on music and the country genre, as well as the acting world, was sizeable.

As well as his own successes, his songs were given a new life by the likes of Janis Joplin and Johnny Cash. He was a regular on the silver screen, most notably winning a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in the 1976 film 'A Star Is Born'.

Kris Kristofferson died last week at his home in Hawaii at the age of 88. Johnnie will pay tribute to him and will also air an archive interview with Rita Coolidge, to whom Kris was married from 1973 to 1980. Rita chats candidly about her musical and personal life with Kris during the decade.

Also on the show, another listener will hit the jackpot with an entry into Johnnie's Jukebox, plus more stories from This Week In Music with the help of the ±«Óãtv Archives. Also - who's going to be brave enough to nominate this week's 'Better Than (the) Original'?
