European Folk Day
Anna celebrates European Folk Day, including a session with Triptic - the new project of Moishe's Bagel's Greg Lawson, Phil Alexander and Mario Caribé.
European Folk Day is the milestone for everyone in the world of folk music to come together and showcase an essential part of Europe’s rich cultural spectrum.
Anna marks the occasion with a programme packed full of European favourites; some live tracks courtesy of the European Broadcasting Union vault; and a live session recorded with Triptic, featuring the firebrand fiddle and mandolin playing of Grit Orchestra founder Greg Lawson, deep bass groover Mario Caribé, and world music magpie Phil Alexander on piano and accordion. Dramatic tango meets joyful klezmer and folk-infused originals, wrapped up in irresistible jazz and latin grooves - it's virtuoso musicianship with a whole lot of soul.
