Jess Gillam with... Dalia Stasevska

Jess swaps favourite music with the conductor Dalia Stasevska, including music by Walton and Bach, Dalia's favourite Sibelius symphony and her organ-based guilty pleasure.

Jess's guest this week is the Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska.

Dalia is a musical force to be reckoned with, her charisma on the podium has established her as a conductor of exceptional versatility and popularity. She is Chief Conductor of Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Director of the International Sibelius Festival and Principal Guest Conductor of ±«Óătv Symphony Orchestra (who she's conducting at this year's ±«Óătv Proms).

She's also known for her fearless musical curiosity - her 'Dalia's Mixtape' project takes some of the freshest sounds in contemporary music to imagine what a symphony orchestra might sound like in the future.

Dalia and Jess talk about her life and work and swap favourite music, from music by Walton and Bach, to tracks by Sigur Ros and Cosmo Sheldrake, Dalia's favourite Sibelius symphony and her organ flavoured guilty pleasure...
