With over 7,000 livestock being shown, and an expected turnout of 250,000 people, Adam Henson and Charlotte Smith are at one of the largest agricultural shows in Europe – the Royal Welsh. On the 120th anniversary of the show, Adam follows one Hereford cattle farmer as he prepares his prize cows for showing, and he steps into the ring to help judge the young pig handlers competition. He also catches up with Royal Welsh stalwart, Gareth Wyn Jones, to learn what makes people come back to this event year after year.

Charlotte meets some of the producers trading at the show, from stick makers to coracle crafters. She finds out how the Royal Welsh began and heads to the forestry section to discover the art of wood chopping. We also meet a grandmother/granddaughter duo gearing up to show their Shropshire sheep and witness the ancient art of farriery.
