The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra at the Proms

The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra at the Proms under founder Daniel Barenboim form the centrepiece of today’s programme, presented by Elizabeth Alker.

Elizabeth Alker introduces an afternoon of exclusive recordings including this year’s appearance at the ±«Óătv Proms of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Founded in 1999 by Daniel Barenboim the orchestra bring together young Arab and Israeli musicians to make music together. In this concert they are joined by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter in programme that features much loved music by Brahms and Schubert.
