The ±«Óãtv Philharmonic and brilliant ±«Óãtv string quartet recordings

Elizabeth Alker brings three hours of the best live classical music recordings from home and abroad, including Brahms's 2nd Piano Concerto featuring the ±«Óãtv Philharmonic performed by the South Korean pianist Sunwook Kim. Sunwook Kim came to international recognition when he won the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition in 2006, aged just 18, becoming the competition’s youngest winner for 40 years, as well as its first Asian winner.

And another prodigy is on the programme: Franz Schubert and his B Flat Major string quartet, written in 1814 when he was just seventeen. It's performed this afternoon by the internationally renowned Takács Quartet string quartet.
