As we celebrate Lionel Richie鈥檚 75th birthday, the story of a Motown legend, starting at University in Tuskegee Alabama, when he decided priesthood wasn鈥檛 for him (after meeting some other musicians and forming The Commodores), to his solo work and collaborations with Diana Ross and Kenny Rogers, told in 鲍鱼tv interviews with Jools Holland, Sir Terry Wogan, Johnnie Walker, Stuart Grundy (on the groundbreaking Hitsville USA documentary series), Tim Smith, Janey Lee Grace, the late Steve Wright and Sir Michael Parkinson, plus more recent visits with Kirsty Young at Buckingham Palace on Coronation Day (as he prepared to perform for his friend King Charles at Windsor Castle) and Jo Whiley at Glastonbury in 2015, when the security guards at the front danced along in a flash mob formation following their debut for Dolly Parton the year before.

We will also hear about recording Endless Love between three and five o clock in the morning in Reno Nevada, that Lionel really helped friends in trouble with his romantic ballads, how his father inspired Three Times A Lady, and that, surprisingly, he himself was never the best person to decide which songs should be released or indeed predict hits.
