They Might Be Giants and Cannes Film Festival highlights

Michelle talks to John Linnell from They Might Be Giants and hears about the films which have made an impact at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Film critic Paul Gallagher sends The Afternoon Show an audio postcard from Cannes, with his picks of the films which have premiered at this year's festival. One movie which received a six minute standing ovation was Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, reviewers Graeme Virtue and Clarisse Loughrey discuss whether it's worth a watch, and what the other big prequels and sequels are to look out for this summer.

This week's Spotlight artist is Charlene Scott, who went to art school once her kids had grown up, she's just won the 2024 Glenfiddich Artist in Residence Prize.

And Michelle talks to John Linnell of They Might Be Giants about their forthcoming UK tour, and four decades of music.
