Nelson Goerner
Argentinian Nelson Goerner performs Handel's Chaconne in G, Schumann's DavidsbĂŒndlertĂ€nze and Balakirev's Islamey, a work once considered the most difficult for the piano.
The celebrated Argentinian pianist brings together Handel's Chaconne with Schumannâs 18 miniature pieces, DavidsbĂŒndlertĂ€nze, which the composer began working on just a week after his secret engagement to Clara. Goerner closes with Balakirevâs Islamey, described by music critic Harold C Schonberg as âat one timeâŠconsidered the most difficult of all piano pieces and is still one of the knucklebustersâ.
