Four fierce rookie cooks have reached the semi-final, and now it鈥檚 game on with two of the toughest challenges so far. The mission is simple: impress judges Poppy O'Toole and Big Has with some of the best food yet and be rewarded with a ticket to the Young MasterChef final. One mistake, and it could be game over.

Our chefs must whack on the wellies, as tonight鈥檚 semi-final kicks off in the countryside, where the coals are being fired up for a celebrity bash like no other. Viral foodies the Taste Cadets (@tastecadets) are throwing a party for their mates and have called on Poppy and Big Has to sort the catering. The judges are putting their faith in the semi-finalists, who will have just two and a half hours to deliver Big Has鈥檚 BBQ-inspired menu to the hungry crowd. A wild setting calls for some wild cooking, so everything today will be prepared over charcoal or wood. The Cadets have eaten their way around the world, so it鈥檚 not a time for burnt burgers and a jacket potato. This lunch needs to be off the scale.

Having pulled off a party to remember, the fearless four head back to the Young MasterChef kitchen for the sweetest showdown yet. The brief is to serve up one delicious dessert with a tasty filling. Think oozing profiteroles or choux buns packed with cr猫me pat. Imaginations can run free, but the end result needs to be a flavour bomb of epic proportions. Special guest judge Lungi Mhlanga (@thetreatsclub) adds her sweet tooth to the mix by sampling the creations. She might even bring a batch of her famed doughnuts.

Sweetness will turn sour for one, who will be given their marching orders. The other three can鈥檛 rest on their laurels, as the fight for the trophy reaches fever pitch. It鈥檚 now or never, as only one will bask in the glory of becoming crowned Young MasterChef champion 2024!
