Seal Treasure

Fred and Pete get tangled in some orange netting on the beach, which starts them off on a seal spotting adventure. They even get to go to a seal’s birthday party!

Sometimes you don’t find the treasure, the treasure finds you! That's exactly that happens when Fred and Pete get tangled in an orange net. They've found treasure, but what exactly is it? To find out, they jump in the Treasure Truck and head to the Museum of Cornish Treasures - maybe Suzy and Archie can help untangle the mystery! Archie tells them the treasure might be helpful to a seal and Suzy sends them to meet her seal expert friend, Lizzi. Lizzi explains that seals are often spotted along the Cornish coast, but they're also in danger of getting tangled up in beach rubbish. Suzy rings in on the Treasure Comm and sends Fred and Pete off to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek to discover more. At the sanctuary, Beth-Anne explains that seals are brought to the sanctuary when they get caught up in beach rubbish the sanctuary can definitely make good use of Fred and Pete’s orange treasure.

Fred and Pete get to meet the baby seals and feed some of the larger seals too. It’s one of the seal’s birthdays, and the sanctuary are having a party – but Fred and Pete haven’t brought a present or a cake! Luckily, the sanctuary staff are on hand to show Pete how to make a special fishy birthday cake, whilst Fred makes a seal toy out of the orange net treasure. Everyone has great fun at the birthday party, and the seals love the present and the cake. All that’s left is for Fred and Pete to return to the museum, where Suzy shows them some footage of baby seals from the sanctuary being released back into the wild where they belong. Fred and Pete also show off the special artwork of their treasure and everything they’ve learned about it.
