Episode 5 of 24

After the House of Lords voted for multiple changes to the government's migration bill, we ask: is government policy towards refugees compassionate enough?

Sean Fletcher and Holly Hamilton present the show that puts the heart and soul into Sundays, bringing faith and ethics to the discussions that matter most.

The House of Lords voted for multiple changes to the government's migration bill. Ahead of the debate, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York urged ministers to back changes to the legislation to ensure a 'just' and 'compassionate' asylum policy. We ask: is government policy towards refugees compassionate enough?

Also, after the latest intervention, we discuss a separate motion from SNP MP Tommy Sheppard to remove the automatic right for Bishops to sit in the House of Lords. And, after 62-year-old TV star Fiona Phillips revealed she has Alzheimer’s, we hear from one woman who says her young-onset dementia diagnosis has allowed her to achieve things she once thought impossible.
