Jazz Infusions

Elizabeth Alker features music from Shabaka Hutchings’ forthcoming album alongside the best from other new jazz-inspired ambient and electronic releases.

Elizabeth Alker presents a jazz-themed episode, inspired by the forthcoming release of Shabaka Hutchings’ album Perceive its Beauty, Acknowledge its Grace, due out in April. Shabaka has established himself as a central figure on the UK jazz scene, playing in a variety of groups including Sons of Kemet, Shabaka & the Ancestors and The Comet Is Coming. He’s always on the lookout for new directions and collaborations, and this album will feature appearances from André 3000, Moses Sumney, Floating Points and Lianne La Havas. Elsewhere in the programme, Elizabeth shares the work of other contemporary musicians who are similarly pushing jazz’s influence into the ambient and electronic worlds.
