Return to Blair Castle

The definitive pipe music programme, featuring news and recordings from the piping world.

Gary West introduces more highlights from one of the most prestigious piping contests in the world, the Glenfiddich Championships held at Blair Castle in Highland Perthshire.

There’s a distinct North American feel to the performances this week, with light music sets from Canadians Alex Gandy and Jack Lee as well as from Texas-based up-and-coming star Nick Hudson.

Scotland’s in-form Fred Morrison treats us to one of his performances too, while this year’s overall champion Willie McCallum goes through his pibroch paces with a tune from the mid 19th century, a fairly modern piece by the standards of that tradition!
