Seonaid Aitken explores jazz, funk and groove based music including cuts from New Orleans outfit The Meters, Acid Jazz group Nimbus Sextet and the old school vibes of the original funkateers, Parliament. Richard Michael’s Song Book takes a looks at Herbie Hancock's funk driven piece Cantaloupe Island from his 1964 Blue Note album Empyrean Isles. Plus brand new music from DJ Rebecca Vasmant, Kit Downes, Go-Go Penguin and the much anticipated new recording from pianist Fergus McCreadie.
