Ex-soldier Darren supports other veterans struggling with life on civvy street. Against the backdrop of a staffing crisis within the logistics industry, he retrains them as HGV drivers, helping them overcome challenges both on and off the road.

Darren left the military after touring Afghanistan with the Royal Artillery. Discharged with PTSD and little support with his mental health, he found the adjustment back into civilian life hard. Addicted to drugs and alcohol he ended up in prison for over 10 years. When he left prison Darren knew he had to do something to help other veterans. He loved his job as a lorry driver - the stability and income it gave him helped him overcome his own issues and he knew it could help others too. He set up Veterans Into Logistics, a non-for-profit organisation that helps veterans pass their HGV driving tests and then supports them into employment.
