Landlord repossession claims are expected to triple this year. That's a result of the backlog of cases from last year and the high numbers of people who have struggled to pay their rent as a result of the pandemic. Housing and legal charities are urging tenants at risk of eviction to use the free legal support available. If you receive a repossession notice a duty solicitor is available on the day of your hearing to provide free legal advice and representation, regardless of your financial situation. But solicitors involved in the scheme are worried people aren't using them.
Students have spent many months away from campus and there is a concern it may be fuelling a rise in plagiarism. There are websites selling essays to students, and if you submit the work as your own then that is plagiarism. Some of the companies claim to sell only study aids, but the numbers of websites selling these services has increased in the last few months. Former Universities Minister Chris Skidmore MP has called for these 'essay mill' sites to be banned.
