Drinking during lockdown, Hoseasons, Dog theft

Latest research suggests despite a spike in supermarket sales during lockdown, we are actually drinking less alcohol compared to last year.

Despite anecdotal evidence, latest research from the market analysts Nielsen suggests consumers have halved their alcohol intake compared to this time last year.
Figures also suggest shoppers have been trading up, with premium beer sales growing at a faster rate suggesting people are treating themselves to a more expensive tipple.

The number of dogs stolen during lockdown has increased by 65 per cent, according to the website DogLost UK. It's partly because of a surge in demand for puppies.
Over five years there's been a steady increase in dog thefts but the number of prosecutions has fallen. Campaigners tell us it's because the deterrents aren't strong enough.

As the football season for English teams restarts next month, Scottish league football has already started. Rangers Football Club took the decision to exclusively launch their new strip online this year - it's believed to be the first time a major club that has done that. The clubs kit partner, Castore, tells us about how much of a success its been, after 50,000 home kits were sold in the first 36 hours.

You & Yours has heard from a number of listeners complaining about one of the major UK holiday rental companies, Hoseasons. It's after several people got in touch and told us about how their holiday in the UK has been cancelled at the very last minute.

Now that pubs and restaurants are open again, there are specific Coronavirus guidelines they have to follow. This includes taking customer's details for track and trace and putting in place social distancing measures. However the Local Government Association is calling for those guidelines to be mandatory, as some haven't been following the rules.
