Housing market; Lockdown recipes; Puppy breeders

How will the housing market recover from coronavirus restrictions? And, making the most of store cupboard ingredients during the lockdown.

We examine what will happen to the housing market once the coronavirus restrictions are lifted. The estate agents, Knight Frank, have predicted around half a million house sales will be lost this year because of the Covid-19 crisis. They say transactions will fall from 1.8 million last year to around 734,000 this year. They also believe house prices could drop by three per cent but expect the market to bounce back in 2021. We speak to Lucy Pendleton, co-founder of James Pendleton Estate Agents and Beth Rudolf from the Conveyancing Association.

We speak to Brian Baker, Elton John's former chef, about how to make the most of store cupboard ingredients to help avoid extra trips to the supermarket during lockdown. He's taking part in an initiative, involving chefs, plus restaurant and pub owners, to put together a free recipe a day to make the best use of everything left in our cupboards.

We look at how lockdown rules have been relaxed slightly so that dog breeders can now deliver puppies to people who have ordered them. Breeders had been concerned about being overwhelmed by rapidly growing litters under coronavirus restrictions. Some breeders of bigger dogs had been running out of space to exercise them as the puppies grew. We speak to Bill Lambert from the Kennel Club, and Shelley Tomsett, who breeds miniature wire haired dachshunds in Kings Lynn in Norfolk, about the welfare implications of not being able to deliver puppies quickly enough.
