Roachford, 1917's George Mackay, plus our weekly film review hour

Roachford talks to Grant about his new album, 1917 actor George Mackay discusses his new film, showing tonight at the Glasgow Film Festival, and we'll have the weekly film reviews.

Roachford talks to Grant about receiving his MBE, going through surgery on his vocal cords in 2018, and his forthcoming new album, Twice in a Lifetime.

As the Glasgow Film Festival gets underway we’ll go live to the Glasgow Film Theatre to get all the buzz of the fest by linking up with film expert Siobhan Synnot and her special guest George Mackay, who, fresh from his successful starring role in the award-winning 1917, is in the city for the screening of his new film, True History of the Kelly Gang.

Thursday is film review day so Grant plus reviewers will be discussing three big movies out this week: the vivid, full-blooded adaptation of Peter Carey’s Booker prizewinner from director Justin Kurzel, True History of the Kelly Gang, legal thriller Dark Waters, which stars Mark Ruffalo, and the French historical drama currently gathering rave reviews, Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

And we’ll be hearing about Just Start Here, the two day festival that is intriguingly- described as being part theatre, part gig, part party, and happening in Dumfries this weekend.
