A Scottish Land Matching Service has been launched. It will pair up landowners with new entrants to farming and offer them independent expert advice. The Scottish Government says this will help would-be farmers overcome one of the biggest barriers by helping them access land, and it'll also address the problem of an ageing farming community.

Rules governing the shooting of wild birds in Wales are about to change. Earlier this year, the campaign group Wild Justice challenged general licences in the courts. In England they were withdrawn and re-issued. In Wales the old licences are going to be replaced with new ones on 7 October, but the British Association for Shooting and Conservation say the changes are irresponsible and confusing. All week we've been looking at livestock markets and today we look at their importance in terms of welfare. The Worcester Diocese has a dedicated market chaplaincy which is at the livestock mart every week, alongside the Farming Community Network. It offers pastoral support to the farmers who go there.
