The Farewell, a film about an American family who return to China to visit their dying grandmother, has been a surprise box office hit in the US and is winning critical acclaim. John talks to the writer and director Lulu Wang, who based it on her own family story.
Jessie Burton, author of the best-selling novel The Miniaturist, discusses her latest book The Confession – an exploration of childhood abandonment and the search for a missing mother.
