09/08/19: What the IPCC report on climate change means for UK farming

Sybil Ruscoe asks what the IPCC report on land use and climate change means for farming with the IPCC's Mark Howden, Vicki Herd from Sustain and beef and dairy farmer Abi Reader.

Sybil Ruscoe reflects on what the IPCC report on land use and climate change means for UK farming. She asks one the IPCC's Mark Howden whether a more plant-based diet is the way forward. Vicki Herd from sustainable farming campaign Sustain welcomes the report and says the solution is to buy less and buy local, and Abi Reader, a beef, dairy and arable farmer from South Wales says that the report needs to take into account the carbon footprint of the UK beef and dairy production rather than just the global picture.

To conclude Farming Today's week on social media Mariclare Carey-Jones has been to meet the first farming star of social media, Gareth Wyn Jones, and asks how he deals with criticism about what he does.
