Health expert Dr Miriam Stoppard, a look at the life of German Man City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann post WW2 in the new film The Keeper, and what the word mother means to us.

She’s a medical doctor, health columnist and broadcaster: Dr Miriam Stoppard speaks about medicine, faith and feminism with Richard Holloway.

The story of how Bert Trautmann went from hate figure to hero is brought to the big screen. The German paratrooper for the Luftwaffe in World War Two was placed in a Prisoner of War camp in Lancashire, where he was spotted and signed as goalkeeper for Manchester City Football Club. Film fan and former Scottish footballer Pat Nevin gives his verdict on ‘The Keeper’.

In our occasional series on the moments, places or people that inspire us, Jeanne Kamara, the Country Manager for Christian Aid in Sierra Leone, talks about the lasting impact her mother has made on her life and career.

And continuing that theme on Mothering Sunday, poet and academic Bashabi Fraser, who’s written a collection of poetry inspired by her mother, and Matt Hopwood, whose travels across the country have been collected in a book called ‘Mother – A Human Love Story’, reflect on what the word ‘mother’ means to us.
