Film review day and Oscars preview

Film review day with all the weekend's big releases, plus an Oscars preview from the ±«Óãtv's Peter Bowes. Also, a look back at the Glasgow Film Festival Opening Gala film.

Thursday is, as ever, film day and we’ll be reviewing On the Basis of Sex, based on the life of the celebrated gender rights advocate and Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, chilly Liam Neeson thriller Cold Pursuit and the Oscar nominated, and already much garlanded, foreign language film Capernaum.

Our reviewers are Alistair Harkness, and Siobhan Synnot who will be joining us live from the Glasgow Film Theatre, where the Glasgow Film Festival is in full swing.

Jonah Hill’s directorial debut Mid90s opened the Glasgow Film Festival last night so Siobhan and Alistair will review the film and give us the gossip from the glitzy Opening Gala.

Siobhan will also be in the foyer of the GFT, talking with some of the stars attending the Festival.

And finally, we look ahead to the biggest event in the global film calendar, the Academy Awards. The ±«Óãtv’s North America correspondent Peter Bowes speaks to Grant from LA and gives his the behind the scenes insights into who might be walking away with Oscars on Sunday night.
