Three security alerts, which caused chaos in Derry, are declared hoaxes.

Three security alerts in Derry have now ended and residents have been allowed back into their homes. The incidents began yesterday morning and continued right into the night as the police attempted to deal with a number of reports of vehicles being hijacked by masked men. A Housing Executive contractor has withdrawn some services to five areas of the city after one of its vehicles was hijacked. The third and final alert was sparked by a vehicle being abandoned in the middle of the Northland Road near St Mary's College yesterday evening.
