Tom Stade, The Catcher in the Rye and Sheridan Smith's new ITV drama Cleaning Up

Canadian comic Tom Stade on his upcoming UK tour, plus a revisit to Otto Preminger's film noir classic Laura.

Grant Stott talks to writer Mark Marlow, about his latest project – the new ITV drama Cleaning Up. It’s a gritty drama about the seedy world of insider trading starring Sheridan Smith as cleaner drawn into the world of financial crime!

Ahead of a sparkling new DVD release, he will revisit Otto Preminger’s Laura, a deliciously well-crafted murder mystery and one of the greatest and most essential film noirs of all time!

Following last year’s smash-hit UK tour, the Canadian comedy legend Tom Stade is back with a new show, ‘I Swear To…’ picking up just where he left off (as an hour simply wasn’t long enough!) He will join Grant and explain how he attempts to figure out exactly where he fits into this emerging new world of feelings and FaceTime.

Grant will also hear from Author Malcom Wyatt – discussing his new book - This Day In Music's Guide To The Clash - perhaps the definitive British punk rockers, and arguably the most inspirational. Formed in 1976 as part of the original wave of UK punk, their music incorporated elements of reggae, dub, funk, ska and rockabilly. 23 years on, they are more influential than ever and we’ll find out why….

All that and our regular Book Group discussion – this week, in honour of the centennial of the birth of J.D. Salinger in 1919, focusing on one of the greatest American novels of all time, The Catcher in the Rye - a classic coming-of-age story: an elegy to teenage alienation.
