Experts say that much more support is needed to help those struggling with funeral costs. Are they too expensive?

A Freedom of Information request, by insurance company Royal London, has revealed that councils across the UK spent nearly £5.4m on "paupers' funerals" last year. The figures show that Perth and Kinross Council spent £74,248 on public health funerals last year, the ninth highest figure in the UK. Funeral cost experts say that much more support is needed to help those struggling with funeral costs.
