The Great Exhibition of the North

Lauren is live from the Sage in Gateshead for the Great Exhibition of the North, with Róisín Murphy, Paul Smith and Rachel Unthank, plus a Nightmares On Wax Desert Island Disco.

Lauren is live from the Sage, in Gateshead, for the Great Exhibition of the North which is a summer-long celebration of the North of England's pioneering spirit.

One of the performers, Nightmares On Wax, has picked the Desert Island Disco tunes; and we chat to Róisín Murphy, ahead of her Friday night performance. Plus Paul Smith of Maximo Park and Rachel Unthank, will give a live preview of their collaborative performance.

Lauren will also hear more about the Great Exhibition of the North, from Tamsin Austin, Director of Programming and Lauren Sadler, the festival producer. And Rotherham-based artist Mark Fell, will share some real world noises of the North, as featured in his festival exhibition Protomusic #1.
