Brian tells Adam that his meeting with the Environment Agency investigators was as expected, he assured them he'll do all he can to help with the clean-up but then when he went to Low Mead he was surprised to see the slow progress of the contractors. He's in half a mind to fire them. But Adam quickly reminds him that he can't fire the contractors, the EA recommended them! That'll incur more time and expense finding someone else.

Things are looking up for Alice, she's landed a major client for Pryce Baumann, which calls for celebration. She thinks she's sober enough to drive but Nic insists on calling Chris to pick her up but Alice doesn't want him to know that she's been drinking so Nic makes her a strong coffee, only later does she see sense and thanks Nic for talking her out of driving.

Adam and Ian tell Jennifer that they've found an egg donor. Adam will make his donation tomorrow so it's all actually happening, with any luck they might just get a baby by Christmas. Jennifer is thrilled for them, that is until they reveal that Lexi is to be their surrogate. She has reservations but after all if Lexi has offered to do something this generous she must be a good person. Adam and Ian ask Brian and Jennifer if Lexi could use the holiday cottage whilst she's pregnant, reluctant at first Brian agrees.

Neil wants Brian to attend the public meeting he's organised about the toxins in the Am, but the last thing Brian wants to do is face a room full of Emma Grundy's. Jennifer reminds him that if he doesn't go, it'll look like he'd got something to hide.
