Gene editing; Farm diversification

Charlotte Smith finds out about new advice from the EU which rules that gene-edited plants should not necessarily come under the rules governing genetically modified organisms.

The Advocate General - a senior lawyer at the EU - has advised that plants which have been gene-edited shouldn't necessarily come under the current EU Directive on Genetically Modified Organisms. Charlotte Smith talks to a scientist from the Francis Crick Institute and an anti-GM campaigner to ask for their reactions to the advice.

All this week Farming Today will be focussing on farm diversification. In today's programme we visit a farm which has branched out into green burials.

Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Emma Campbell.
