Noluthando uses her initiative, and Freddie strikes a bargain.

Kate invites Noluthando to spend the day helping her at Spiritual ±«Óãtv. Kate understands that she thinks that the whole philosophy is nonsense, but is keen for her daughter to understand her better. Noluthando agrees, on the condition that Kate stops nagging. Later, Kate leaves Noluthando in charge while she makes tea. She doesn't think there are any clients due for an hour. Johnny pops by to invite Noluthando to The Bull. Lynda turns up unexpectedly for a treatment, and Johnny drops Noluthando in it by claiming that she's an expert. Noluthando improvises a "Xhosa healing ritual", and Lynda leaves feeling revitalised. Kate's delighted, thinking that Noluthando finally understands her passion.

At The Bull Johnny asks Eddie for more Tumble Tussock Cider. He's disappointed when Eddie claims it has run out. Johnny and Freddie compare their experiences of being compared to their dead fathers. Freddie concludes that Nigel wasn't as perfect as people like to make out. He approaches Eddie and offers him twenty pounds for a flagon of Tumble Tussock. Eddie suddenly remembers that they have some left after all, and they haggle over the price. Noluthando and Johnny wonder if Freddie's gone mad when he invites them for a night-time drink in the Grange Farm Orchard. Freddie has decided to follow Nigel's example and live for pleasure.
