Pip massages the truth, and Shula gets a warning.

Helen reassures Tom she's fine with his change of scholarship topic; maybe they can look at producing their own baby foods another time. They discuss Bridge Farm's future. Tom's keen to know how Kirsty's doing. Helen suggests he visits Kirsty himself.

While the builder inspects the damaged roof at the Hunt kennels, he spots evidence of Little Owls in the roof space. He suggests Shula might want to think about a nest box if she doesn't want rid of them. He also advises she obtains several quotes for the repair work. The kennels haven't been taken care of structurally for years, so it won't come cheap.

Toby's fed up The Bull aren't interested in his gin, even though he's tried to tell Kenton the product's much better now. Pip's equally downhearted. Milk yields are no better with the IBR at Brookfield. And she's all ready to run her own stock at ±«Óãtv Farm, but lacks the money to buy store cattle. Feeling guilty, Toby urges Pip to try Jill for a loan. Awkward Pip probes her Gran, and Jill is tempted by the potentially large return on her investment. Pip fudges the issue when Jill asks what happened to last year's profits, which prompts Jill to ask for a few days to think over her answer.
