Ruth clashes with Jill, and it is feeling festive in the Tearoom.

For Ruth, decorating the Christmas tree seems pointless and David tries to lighten the mood. Jill returns from the Advent service and offers to help - morose Ruth leaves Jill to finish the decorations herself.

In the busy Tearoom, Emma notices a jumpy Helen looking at the door. Ruth's arrival at the shop then gives Helen a start. Meanwhile, Tony plays Santa with Henry as his helper. Emma admits she's strapped for cash this Christmas, while at Bridge Farm they're looking forward to a lovely family time. Helen wants to delete Rob from her life and Ruth reassures her over Henry's desire to make a Christmas card for Rob. Emma also encourages Helen to put the last year behind her.

Pip's happy to cover whatever Christmas shifts David needs her to, but she's evasive about her plan for her profit from her beef herd. David's keen to help, even offering another loan from him and Ruth.

Ruth tentatively suggests to Pip about popping over on Christmas Day, but Pip points out that Toby's not welcome - especially by Jill. Ruth puts Jill on the spot about why she despises Toby. Jill defends herself - she just knows he will be bad for Pip. Pip has made her bed and has to lie in it.
