Film Day: Snowden

In her regular Film Day segment, Janice and guests review Snowden, the amazing true-life story of the computer analyst turned whistleblower, directed by Oliver Stone.

It's film day: we'll discuss Oliver Stone's much anticipated, true-life story, Snowden - the story of the former computer analyst, who 'leaked' classified information that revealed clandestine, public mass surveillance.

We'll also discuss this week's other big cinema releases, including The Birth of A Nation, which tells the remarkable story of Nat Turner - the man behind one of the most successful slave rebellions in American history, and the critically-acclaimed Life, Animated - a documentary about a young man with autism, whose family learned to use animated Disney films to communicate with him after he stopped talking.

Later in the show, we look back at the life and work of the man immortalised by the classic movie line "I am Spartacus!" The great Gladiator is about to turn Centurion: the 9th of December will see Hollywood acting legend, Kirk Douglas turn 100!

All that and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - The Christmas Show at The Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh - Actors Jess Peet, (Alice) Alan Francis, ( Duchess), and Tam Dean Burn, (The Mad Hatter) will be on hand to tell us all about it!

Don't Miss it!
