Lucy Kellaway is best known for her work with the Financial Times, but after 31 years she is swapping her career in journalism for one as a classroom teacher. A British-Iranian woman, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, is currently jailed in Tehran. Her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, says he suspects Iran is using his wife as a way of extracting an unpaid debt from the British government.

The Defence Committee has warned that the number of Royal Navy warships is woefully low. In a new report published this morning the committee says the Ministry of Defence seems to have no explanation for how the vessels will be replaced.
