Every year families are losing loved ones and people are struggling to get by day to day because we simply don't know enough about autism.聽 80 % of autistic people have suffered with a mental health problem such as depression and anxiety, and they are 9 times more likely than the rest of the population to take their own lives. Autistica鈥檚 research can change that. It can help us understand what treatments and services will help autistic people to live longer, healthier and happier lives.聽 聽
Helping children to get a better start in life

Autistica is researching how to give children like Emilia an
earlier diagnosis and how to give parents support and information they need to
help them their children to thrive.

Autistica鈥檚 research aims to understand and treat conditions
in autism such as anxiety, depression and epilepsy that are cutting short
thousands of lives.
Support at every stage of life
85 % of autistic people do not work full-time, but many want
to, and can. David, got the right support to run art workshops, which he loves,
and it has turned his life around.
Our research aims to understand what we can do to help
autistic people through every stage of their life.聽
